CJL Design Services strives to produce the best products possible, paying close attention to detail and offering the highest quality designs and plans. With 30 years of design and drafting experience in different segments of the construction industry, we have much knowledge to offer each client. We have over 30 years of experience in log home, site built, prefabricated, modular and commmercial construction sectors. Our clientele includes architectural & engineering firms, contractors and home owners. Winner of the 2002 & 2003 IABC (International ARRIS / Builders CAD Conference) - Architectural Drawing Competition. We are Energy Star Partners. Buildings & homes built with Energy Star requirements offer owners all the features they want plus energy-efficient improvements that deliver better performance, greater comfort, and lower utility bills.
In 1984 Christopher started CJL Design Services part-time by drawing home plans. He has worked for architects & builders throughout his career years and since the housing market crash in 2009, Christopher decided to make CJL Design Services a full time business.
Chris' drafting and design experience started at Adirondack Community College in Queensbury, NY in their architectural drafting program, his first paying drafting job began with doing board drafting for Lincoln Logs.
Christopher has worked as a draftsman, estimator, purchasing manager, CAD project leader, drafting supervisor, and construction & manager while employed with several companies. Over the years Howard has created drawings using Builders Cad, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, and Revit. Christopher has also developed estimating program utilizing Excel and also uses PlanSwift for estimating.
